Pilot information
A historic general aviation airfield in the heart of Warwickshire - flight schools, Touchdown Café, Wartime Museum and Avro Vulcan XM655, with a welcoming AFISO service for visiting pilots.
Built on a former RAF site near Stratford-upon-Avon, Wellesbourne combines active general aviation with a café, museum and a community of flying clubs that makes every visit worthwhile.
AFISO on 124.030, AVGAS 100LL and Jet A1, hard runways and a grass strip, plus clear circuit and noise-abatement procedures for safe, efficient arrivals and departures.
Fixed-wing and helicopter training, plus advanced instruction - Aeros, Heli Air, On-Track and South Warwickshire Flying School all call Wellesbourne home.
Touchdown Café for watching the circuit, a volunteer-run Wartime Museum, and Avro Vulcan XM655 - a day out for enthusiasts as much as a stop for pilots.
Strictly prior permission for visiting aircraft. Book ahead, check NOTAMs and weather, then call us on the radio.
Submit the Book-In / PPR form before you depart. Only one non-based aircraft may operate in the circuit at a time - booking is essential.
Review live weather, runway status and NOTAMs. Note market closures on 05/23 and noise-abatement turns for each runway end.
Contact on 124.030. Standard overhead join at 2,000 ft QFE. Fixed-wing circuit 1,000 ft; helicopters 600 ft. Pay landing fees online or with fuel.
